About Me

I’m a graphic designer with over 20 years of web experience. I taught myself to design and build websites when I was 10, and I’ve been honing my craft ever since.

I graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute in 2013 with a BFA in graphic design. In 2014, I worked there as a teacher’s assistant and as an adjunct professor. I’m also the co-founder and creative director of Cogneedo, a small design studio that specializes in graphic design, web design, branding, and print design. Previously, I worked my way up the ladder in the graphic design department at MyARTS from 2006 to 2012, where I was an assistant mentor for high school students.

Design is how I satisfy my need to make things that help people. I love researching and learning about the people I design for. Getting to the root of an issue is one of my favorite parts of solving and designing for it. I thrive in the space between concept and execution. I design with purpose and I bring my designs to life with code (or pixels, or ink).

I belong to multiple organizations, including the Freelancers’ Union and AIGA.
